Slabs, pads, and footings poured across North Las Vegas

Concrete contractor work in North Las Vegas splits between homes and industry. Aliante, Eldorado, and Craig Ranch are built out. New tracts keep opening north of the 215 at Villages at Tule Springs. Out on the I-15 side, Apex Industrial Park keeps adding warehouses, and the Speedway corridor has filled in with them. Both sides need concrete that sits on steady ground. We pour building pads, slabs, RV pads, and trash enclosure pads across North Las Vegas, plus footings and stem walls for casitas and additions. Ram Masonry works out of east Las Vegas, so these jobs are close to home. We hold Nevada C-18 masonry license number 0080771, bonded and insured, and have poured here since 2014.

Homeowners call for a slab under a shed or casita, a wider parking pad, or an RV pad. Builders and property owners call for footings under CMU walls, building pads, and the slab inside a trash enclosure. We handle the grade, the base, the forms, and the pour. The price comes in writing after we see the dirt, and the estimate is free.

What North Las Vegas ground does to a slab

Most of North Las Vegas sits on sandy fill over caliche. The caliche band often starts five to eight feet down, and it is not even across a lot. A slab that rests half on soft dirt and half on rock cracks along that line. We check what is under the pad before we bid, so the base plan matches the dirt.

Loose sand does not carry a load until it is compacted. We cut to grade, bring in base where the soil is soft, and run the compactor in lifts. Rebar gets tied on chairs so it sits in the middle of the slab. Control joints get cut on a spacing set by the thickness.

Water is the other issue on flat north valley lots. Monsoon storms drop a lot of rain in a short window, and a pad with no fall holds it. We pitch every slab so water leaves the pad and runs away from the building. Slope gets checked with a level and written into the scope.

Building pads, footings, and trash enclosures for North Las Vegas businesses

The industrial side of North Las Vegas runs on a different clock. Apex Industrial Park covers about 18,000 acres and keeps adding buildings. Contractors there call for building pads, footings under CMU walls, and equipment pads. We schedule pours around inspections and the trades already on site.

Trash enclosures are steady work at shopping centers and commercial lots across the city. The pad carries a dumpster and the truck that lifts it, so it gets poured thick with steel. The block enclosures and CMU walls for commercial lots come from the same license. General contractors get the same written scope a homeowner gets.

Slabs for warehouses and shop floors carry forklifts and racks, and they get engineered for that. We pour to the drawings, hold the grade, and protect the slab while it cures. Pours on an active site get planned around gates, truck access, and the other crews. The company is licensed for residential and commercial work.

RV pads and slabs in the newer North Las Vegas tracts

Lots at Villages at Tule Springs and Valley Vista often close with builder walls and open dirt behind the house. Owners want an RV pad along the side yard, a slab for a shed, or a walkway to the gate. Side yards there are tight, so material often moves by wheelbarrow through the gate. We stage the pour around that access.

RV pads get poured thicker than a driveway, with heavier steel, since a loaded coach weighs far more than a pickup. The pad gets pitched so water runs off, and the edge gets set to meet the driveway clean. Aliante and Eldorado owners call for the same work on lots built out years ago. Many of those communities sit under an HOA that reviews what shows from the street.

Permits for footings and pads under a structure go through City of North Las Vegas Building Safety. That office is at the Permit Application Center. Whether a ground level slab needs one depends on what sits on it and where it lands on the lot. We check with the city before the pour is scheduled.

Summer pours and what concrete costs in North Las Vegas

Summer changes how we pour in the north valley. Fresh concrete sets fast over 90 degrees, and the open desert wind pulls water off the surface. So pours start at sunrise in the hot months, while the ground and the mix are cool. The slab gets protected while it cures through the first days.

One national cost guide lists a concrete slab at $6 to $12 per square foot installed. Thicker pours, heavy rebar, and deep footings run above that. Commercial pads built to a spec price on their own. Caliche breakout and tight access move the number more than size does.

The full scope, from bid to pour, is on our concrete contractor service page. Driveways sit under concrete driveway replacement, with numbers in our concrete driveway cost in Las Vegas guide. Walls that sit on the footings we pour are covered by our North Las Vegas block wall service. The rest of our masonry and concrete across North Las Vegas has its own page.

How much does a concrete slab cost in North Las Vegas?
One national cost guide lists a concrete slab at $6 to $12 per square foot installed. Thickness, rebar, base work, and access move the number. A backyard slab reached by wheelbarrow costs more per foot than an open pad. Commercial pads and deep footings price on their own. Every job is bid on site with a free written estimate.
Do you pour building pads and footings for commercial sites in North Las Vegas?
Yes. We pour building pads, footings under CMU walls, trash enclosure slabs, and equipment pads for contractors and property owners. That includes work out at Apex and the industrial lots along the I-15. Pours get scheduled around inspections and the other trades on site. The company is bonded and insured.
Can you pour an RV pad next to my garage?
Yes. RV pads get poured thicker than a standard driveway, with heavier rebar. We pitch the pad so water runs off and pin it to the existing driveway with steel dowels. Tell us the length of the coach and the heaviest weight it carries. HOA approval may come first in the master plans.
How deep is the caliche in North Las Vegas?
It changes from lot to lot. Across much of the city the caliche band starts about five to eight feet down, under loose sandy soil. Some lots hit it much sooner. Slabs usually sit above it, but footings and deep pads can reach it. Breaking through adds machine time, and we price that after we see the site.
When do you pour concrete in the summer?
At sunrise. Concrete sets fast once the air passes 90 degrees, and the wind in the north valley dries the surface. Early pours give the crew time to place, finish, and cut joints before the heat. Then the slab gets protected while it cures. You get a timeline for your own pour.
Why Choose Ram

Why Las Vegas Calls Ram Masonry

Masonry Is the Trade

Block, brick, stone and concrete are the whole business, not a sideline. Footings dug to bearing, cells grouted around steel, joints struck full. That is why the walls we build stay straight.

Built for the Desert

Vegas heat and monsoon wind punish shortcuts. Early summer pours, mortar kept from drying too fast, drainage behind every retaining wall, footings cut through caliche instead of stopping on it.

Priced in Writing, Free

We look at the job, measure it, and put the price and timeline in writing before work starts. Photos by text get a fast first read. The estimate costs nothing either way.

Licensed, Bonded, Insured

Nevada C-18 masonry license #0080771, bond and insurance on file. The license is what lets us pull your wall permit, and it covers commercial work at the same standard as residential.
